Last week I e-filed my AP (I-131) renewal and sent documents to TSC. Soft LUD today, it is in "Testing and Interview� stage.
Is this stage generally expected for renewal of AP? I am not sure why the online message says "request for appointment reschedule" although my application is to renew AP.
Did any one go through this process before? pls share your experience.

with all due respect, I really doubt if this is the bet way to get people to donate. Calling people cheap is not a nice thing and generally not recommended.

Howzzat there is a CLEAR clause in that statement
"If we cannot even contribute $10 a month". There is a clear IF in that statement. And yes after all that IV has done and all the advantage IV members have obtained FREE OF COST just by sitting on the fence (on their behinds), while the core team, who by the way have full time jobs AND families, slogged MORE THAN FULL TIME to get IV's very first goal to be achieved, THEN I say I am FULLY JUSTIFIED in calling those people CHEAP.

I recently came to know like many desi comanies applying the h1 s for their whole family tree,like cousins, bros, sisters.
think about them they will sit on the bench forever, also they cannot complain.
We are inviting the trouble for our own future. I am not aganist the H1b program,but i am aganist about this family business. They come here on fake resumes and fake degrees.
I would encourage every one to complain aganist them, so that real experienced people will not be screwd up.
they also play tricks like one person will take the interview for the other one and so forth.
Desi consulting is a big mess.
we should act on it.

I am on 9th Year H1 extension and my H1 will expire in end of September 2009.My Labor got approved in 2007 So, I filed I140 and I-485 concurrently. But My I-140 got denied which filed with concurrent then Lawyer appealed as Motion to Reopen the I-140 which got denied and lawyer filed another I-140 as a brand new.
So there are 2 I-140's with the USCIS.
Recently I got intended to Deny like ability to pay query with the Second I-140 case, then lawyer answered the query and filed in premium this one got denied after a week.
Again, First I-140 which lawyer did Motion to Reopen this one also denied from the USCIS but the lawyer appealed this one.
Infact I recently travelled to india and came back on Advance Parole before all this denial happend.
Now, I filed my H1B extension , What will happen to the H1 extension ?
and What is my status now?
Can I tranfer my H1 and file the labor entirely new with the new company eventhough I am in the 9th year extension?
Any help would appreciate

what does ur online status show btw? also ur dep's earlier checks havent cashed right ? dumb Q :-( one of my friend got in to similar situation he sent it back and checks cashed not sure how much did he sent though.
The status shows application received and rejected. As per the notice the reason is missing signature.The check's haven't cashed..,can you please check with your friend how long it took for him to get the check's cashed after re-sending the application?

Thanks, I do have the copy of I-140 approval notice with receipt number and all that info.
It's hard to find employers (once again, non consulting ones) who commit to file my GC application again. At best, I get a "we'll gladly transfer your H1-B visa but no commitment on GC" sort of response. Considering a worst case scenario, if I dont have a newly approved PERM by May 2013 and my original PD (July 2008) becomes current, what happens then?

Join somebody now and then look for others who would be willing to do the PERM immediately. I am not sure how long you can stay now since you are basically out of status as of last week.

I was a student on f1 and had applied and used my OPT period. The OPT card has A#. I am applying I-485 with I-140 pending and have I-140 reciept
Should I use the OPT A# everywhere on the application?
I do not have any other documentation related to my OPT except the expired OPT/EAD card. IS this suffiecnt documentation?
There is question on the I-765 which ask IF i had applied for EAD before. WOuld the answer to this be yes I have used OPT before? If yes what is the location of the USCIS office where I applied. I have no clue about this

My family (wife and daughter) attended the interview along with me. The procedure for H-1B extension/renewal is much easier in Chennai compared to first time stampers. There is a separate counter for renewals and the interview procedure is quite simple. After the initial screening of documents, we went to a separate renewal counter which did not have any queue.
The VO just asked some questions about my nature of the job and how long I have been with my company. FYI, my company is a major reputed IT Foreign MNC. My family was not asked any questions. We did not have any PIMS delays and I got the passport couriered the very next day itself. The petition was approved a month before the stamping. Overall it is a much streamlined process for H-1B visa extensions/renewals.

Has anyone claimed unemployment benefits in EAD in TX state after being laid off? Can you please tell whats the procedure. I do not want to get into the debate of whether UB can be claimed while in AOS state? I just need to know the procedure. Thanks.
Yes, one of my colleagues in Dallas applied as he was unemployed for more than 8 months before he landed another job. However, the reason he applied is he was ok with having to go back to his home country incase of any complications. He is still is US and is happily employed.....This doesn't mean someone wont run into trouble by applying for benefits while in AOS.....Just sharing what I know....

AFAIK I do not think you cannot work once your EAD expires. You have to resign and start once your new EAD is issued. Ideally you need to apply for your EAD 120 days prior and CIS takes approximately around 90 days to send the renewal card.
