The bill also states that USCIS has consistently failed to reduce application backlogs and has suffered from a lack of transparency and effective management.
�Our immigration services need to move into the 21st century,� stated Rep. While I agree that USCIS needs to modernize its existing infrastructure and procedures, they must do so in a transparent and open manner. Today i received my EAD card, It says fingerprint not available. I have not yet received FP notice
Has this happened to anybody else, will i have to update EAD card after FP, how does this work
Filed on July 16th, My checks were cashed on 10th Sep

First EAD will have no fingerprints, since you have not gone through FP.
Its normal. Read other threads.
You will not need to update EADs, renewal next year will take care of this automatically.
Could you please provide some more info on your case...ie. filed with which service center, case transfered or not....Remember this is community site, we share information/knowledge for benefit of each other, Thanks

my current H1 employer is least helpful.i am getting worried and would like to continue in L1 for few months until i get a suitable opportunity.pls tell me how i can do that.

Consular processing is requesting that the H-1 be approved and you will go to the consulate in your home country to pick up the visa and come back on a new H-1, in this situation, you are not requesting for a change of status when you file for a H-1. Your attorney will know how to file a consular processing case.

I don't think you read his question- He/She wanted to know if the FP can be done in an American Consulate General in India if he gets his FP notice while he/she is in India.
Does anyone know of this situation and if any consulate in India can do the FP?
If you get your FP notice while in the US go to the ceter any day at 7.45 am before the center opens and request the staff to do the FP.They generaly oblige.I did it in Los Angeles.

Guru, I intend to seek your opinion/thoughts on some thing that is going on in mind.
I am working as a contractor for a Insurance Company. My GC process is started thru a desi consulting company. Priority date is Jun 2007 EB3 - India
The company is now offerring me to join them as permanent employee. They are saying they can help me with immigration.
My question is .. I dont understand how they can help me. I think the best they can do it apply as EB2 - India. (Which we heard recently is no better then my current EB3 India.)
Am I missing anything here ? Trying to make up my mind one way or the other (to accept this position or not.)

My friend got EAD.His wife is on F1 visa.If he starts using EAD instead of applying for H1 extension, Can he able to join his wife to his GC process who is currently on F1 when his priority date become current.His priority date is Sept06.140 Approved.july 2, 2007 filer.485 is pending.

Is it true that my spouse (currently on H4) with pending AOS if outside US when my (principal applicant) approval comes, will not be able to use H4. Will her H4 get invalidated the moment i become a permanent resident. What happens if she boards a plane and reaches US to find that her H4 is not valid ?

but it also says in the first few lines in the form:
If you live in one of these states or territories, please read this notice to determine your filing location:
ALASKA, CALIFORNIA, IDAHO, IOWA, KANSAS, MARYLAND, MISSOURI, MONTANA, NEBRASKA, NEW MEXICO,OKLAHOMA, OREGON, TEXAS, AND WASHINGTON

USCIS kept on updating the total number of cases received for H-1B for FY 2009-10. However, the recent USCIS H-1B (http://www.h1b.biz/lawyer-attorney-1137085.html) cap count indicates decline in number of cases than what had been previously reported. The updated count reports the receipt of 44,400 ‘Regular’ cap cases, by June 12, 2009 which is lesser than the prior count of 47,700, given as of May 22, 2009. There is no explanation too from USCIS for this decline in trend. Thus, this reduced number may reflect either withdrawals by employers, denials by the USCIS, duplicate filings, or an error in the prior cap counts.
As of this writing, both the Advanced Degree and Regular caps remain open. We will continue to provide updated H-1B cap count information.

Did aanyone around June 15 -June 20th get any approval yet?
Isn't it too soon to expect it? They usually take 45 to 60 days. It has been only a couple of weeks.

Today i received a mail(04/12/2009) .Uscis issued an RFE. I am still waiting for it in mail.
she is currently in india . coming back on 04/15/2009. will there be any problem for her while coming back. I am july 2007 filer on priority Date eb3 ( 04/23/2003). I have left my employer last year.My 140 was approved on feb 2007. what are my options.
